  The Gilded Church: looks good on the outside, not so great on the inside. Despite attending for years, I still feel as alone as when I first came. Don't go to this church

  Came here with the invitation from a friend. Was lost in the building, asked for directions 4 times to 4 different people, and was ignored every time. The building itself is also very inefficient and confusing.
  
  But I don't care about that. I was simply looking forward to the sermon.
  The sermon was okay, but being a consistent church goer of KCPC, it was a tad different than what I'm used to. Which is fine.
  Problem comes from after the sermon. I was completely lost and unwelcomed in the institution. For example, at Mclean Bible Church or KCPC, there are facilities outside the worship hall for newcomers. They help you to take the next steps, and make you feel welcome in case you are lost. At ODPC, I was mortified when I was asked if I made a donation to the church as an offering. Is the church a business??? It wasn't even a question, but sounded like a demand. The sermon was not so great that I could overlook the moment of humiliation, so I vowed to never come here again.

  Do not go here. I did not feel welcome at all. For a name like Open Door I would expect a much different demeanor from them than how I was treated

  Great church. They have everything: awana, bible studies, strongly missions oriented, humble pastors who really serve and not just talk about it, active youth group, choir, klema ministry for serving persons with disabilities, manna ministry for outreach to the poor in the local area (food bank, meal, clothing, and service on 3rd Saturdays), services in both English and Korean, Discipleship, training and Bible studies on many different topics, etc. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
